Editor for Process Maps
The diagram editor for process maps is used for modeling overviews of company processes.
Purpose
You can use a process map to create an overview of processes. These are normally processes that you identify by refinement when analyzing the whole company or a section of the company. You can indicate an order for the processes and nest them within each other. You can also model relationships with organizational units as well as with the IT systems related to the processes.
The process map is not methodically linked with BPMN processes. IT systems likewise do not need to be modeled as BPMN elements. The process map deliberately does not limit you as a modeler. You can model relationships without methodical restrictions to set guidelines and outline a framework for further modeling, whether it be in BPMN or in other notations.
