Inserting an Existing BPMN Process as Concept Node

Insert existing BPMN processes into process maps to model their process relationships and interactions.

Context

Drag an existing BPMN process from the model structure and drop it into a process map in order to display the relationship to other processes.

It does not matter whether the process map already contains elements or not. Inserting the process creates a new process (concept node) for the process map. This process is given a reference for the BPMN process in the realization.

You can also drag multiple existing BPMN processes to a process in the process map. The inserted processes are added as further references in the realization.

You can jump to the respective BPMN process using the standard reference ([Shift]+double-click).

You can also insert other elements from the model in this way; global tasks and process paths in particular.

How to proceed

  • Select the BPMN process to be inserted in the model structure and use drag-and-drop to place it on a free space in the process map.

A new process is created in the process map and the BPMN process is referenced in the realization. The name of the BPMN process is automatically adopted for the process in the process map.
