Assigning a Process to Organizational Units or IT Elements
Assign processes to specific organizational units and IT elements to describe the area which a process belongs to.
Context
Processes are assigned to organizational units and IT elements to map where these processes take place. All processes that belong to a department in a company can be represented together in an organizational unit. IT elements represent IT systems.
Organizational units that represent a part of their organization structure can be newly created or inserted into a process map using drag-and-drop.
If you use an existing organizational unit, then a corresponding concept node with a referencing realization is created which points to the inserted organizational unit, as is the case with BPMN processes.
If you create a new concept node, you will then need to assign the realization using an organizational unit.
How to proceed
-
Select the organizational unit which you want to assign processes to in the process map and drag-and-drop it into the process map.
A concept node for an organizational unit with a realization of the existing organizational unit is created.
-
Drag the BPMN process which you want to assign to the organizational unit and drop it onto the concept node of the organizational unit.
A process node with a realization of the BPMN process is inserted. The node for the organizational unit is automatically enlarged.
