Creating a Process as Concept Node
In process maps you create processes as concept nodes, which reference BPMN processes for example.
Context
A BPMN process can be defined just once and displayed in any number of diagrams as referencing view.
In the case of a new BPMN process, the process is created, assigned within the model structure and is not allocated to any diagram as a definition.
A process within a process map is not an independently defined process but a representative of a process. It can represent a business process of the company, which contains a sequence of individual activities that result in achieving the target of the business process.
Business processes can, in turn, include business processes or can be part of another business process. As a general rule, the focus of a process map is on representing individual business processes and their interactions and structures in graphic form in order to provide a basis for optimizing business processes.
How to proceed
-
Position the mouse pointer at your chosen position in the process map and select the template for a process (concept node) from the mini toolbar in the context menu.
A new process is created in the diagram. The name of the process is automatically selected to be edited.
-
Enter the name for the process and confirm with the [Enter] key.
Tip
In this way, you can create all the available elements in a process map.
