Opening and Closing Models

You can find the commands for opening and closing models in the Model tab.

You can open standalone models on the running model server and managed models in project directories with the running agent if the user has the appropriate rights. You may require a password when logging-in to the model.

It is possible to have more than one model open at the same time and work in these at the same time.

You can open models in the Model tab. In the model editor, use the commands in the Open & Login backstage view for this.

Opening a model may take some time. A separate Innovator interface appears for each model.

Close standalone or managed models by logging-out of the model in the Model tab. The model editor is then opened again.

The Close command appears in the same place for model files with a local model server; this closes the model editor.

The model is also closed and the model editor is closed if Innovator is shut down or the Innovator interface is closed.

Note

If the Model Structure tool window view was visible when the model editor was closed, then the element last selected in the model structure is selected in the model structure when the model is reopened.
