Central User Management Tab

The user management on the main license server is called in the administration program. It provides the functions for the definition of rules for logging-in to models and model servers for repositories with single sign-on.

Purpose

The user management on the main license server is for the definition of rules for logging-in to models and model servers for repositories with single sign-on.

Prerequisites

In order to call the central user management on the main license server in the administration program and use its functions, you must be logged-in to the license server as an administrator or your user must have the Manage Users right (normally as a group member).

Call

Select the User Management tab in the administration program.

Structure

The user management consists of the ribbon, the User Management tab, the workspace, and the status bar with information about the main license server and the current selection in the workspace.

Ribbon

The ribbon contains the following ribbon tabs for the User Management tab:

  • Users

You can find commands for updating the view, creating and editing elements of the user configuration and synchronizing, loading and saving the user configuration.

User Management Tab

The structure for the access to the user rules is displayed in this tab.

  • Groups tab

Here, you define rules for the following for all members of a group on the basis of user groups:

    • Role assignment when logging-in to models
    • Logging-in as model administrator
    • Logging-in to standalone model servers as repository administrator
    • Starting and editing of managed models (model versions)

You also make assignments to superordinate groups and assign group members.

  • User tab

Here, you define special rules for individual users for special tasks.

You can also make the assignment as a group member.

  • Roles tab

In this tab, you manage the roles for the rules when users log into models.

When the model version or model server of a repository is started with single sign-on, all roles contained in the models are made known to the license server for the central user management.

As a general rule, a role is required in order to log-in as a user. Roles must exist in the model and rights must be assigned so that the appropriate ones can be provided to be chosen from upon login.

  • Login Rules Tab

Here, you can carry out mass maintenance of the existing login rules.

The rules can be sorted and filtered in all rule tabs. This makes it easier to identify which rules cannot be reached and therefore have no effect, in order to change or delete these rules.

  • Model Admin Rules tab

You can maintain all existing model administrator rules here.

  • Model Server Rules tab

You can maintain all existing model server rules here.

  • Version Rules tab

Here, you can carry out mass maintenance on existing version rules.

Workspace

The workspace of the User Rules tab consists of one or more tables (and, if appropriate, buttons for the rule order).
