Overview of Ribbon Tabs
A tab contains groups of control elements which belong together.
A tab is a directory. Tabs are used for grouping information and fields into various consecutive windows. One window is always in the foreground. Clicking on the tab's name makes the tab the active tab; information and any settings you may have made in the previously-open tab are not lost by changing tabs. The ribbon is split into tabs. There are the following types of tab:
-
Standard Tab
The standard tabs are always available. They organize the application's standard functions.
-
Context Tab
Context tabs are visible as soon as documents or the workspace are in a certain state. They are highlighted.
If a user wants to e.g. open a diagram, the context sensitive Design and Page Layout tabs are shown; these tabs contain functions for editing diagrams.
