Configuring Content and Display of Analysis Graphs
You can configure content and display of analysis graphs and set these for certain elements, stereotypes, element types and relationship properties.
What Can You Configure?
-
Graph Content
You can use the content to specify which elements are used in the graph and whether they should be displayed as nodes or as edges for simplicity.
You can exclude elements, stereotypes, element types and relationship properties from being displayed in the graph or you can set how elements should be used in the graph.
-
Display of Graphs
You can set whether icons should be seen in the analysis graph and whether and how properties should be shown.
How to Use Configurations
You can store content and display settings for an analysis graph under a separate name as a user-defined configuration.
However, other influences saved with the diagram will significantly influence the analysis graph:
- Analysis Range
- Graph Direction
- Set end elements
Configurations are managed separately in the Manage dialogs. You can save user-defined configurations as model-wide configurations so that all users can access them. Model-wide configurations have the
Innovator icon.
You can select a model-wide or user-defined configuration in the drop-down lists in the Configuration group in the Impact Analysis context tab.
You can only select model-wide configurations in the Properties tool window.
If you select a model-wide content or display configuration, then this is stored in the analysis diagram if you have the necessary access rights. The analysis diagram then appears for all users with this configuration when opened, if the user has not used any user-specific configurations for the diagram. If this is the case, then their own content and/or display configurations are used.
When opening the diagram, users are informed about which users may have set a user-defined configuration last.
How to Proceed
Prerequisites
You have created the analysis graph for a start element.
Context
You want to display certain aspects of the analysis graph.
How to proceed
-
To set whether and how elements should be used when structuring the graph, open the Impact Analysis Content tool window with
Impact Analysis>Configuration>Edit Content.
The tool window appears below the diagram by default.
Select the entries from the tabs which you want to set a user-defined behavior for. To do this, select the element and click on
.
The element is moved from the left list Default to the right list User-Defined and removed from the graph upon refresh.
To enter conditions of use when structuring the graph, open the
Set conditions for content configuration dialog. You can set whether and how the element should be used here.
-
To set how the element should be displayed in the graph, open the Impact Analysis Display tool window with
Impact Analysis>Configuration>Edit Display.
The tool window appears below the diagram by default.
Select the entries from the tabs which you want to set a user-defined dsplay for. To do this, select the element and click on
.
The element is moved from the left list Default to the right list User-Defined and shown in green in the graph upon refresh.
To enter conditions for display in the graph, open the
Set conditions for display configuration dialog. You can make settings for name, color and edge display here.
