Table Editors for Content
The table editor is used for editing of elements of the types set in the respective table configuration within a selected structure element or other selections, e.g. in the result region.
Purpose
The table editor for content can be opened for all stereotypable elements.
You can use the table editor for content to easily edit elements of types which you have assigned a table view to in the Manage Table Views dialog.
Call
You can open it by selecting the model's structure element which contains the selected element types and then select Start>Open>Contents as Table><Table View> in the menu.
All elements below the selected structure element of the element types and stereotypes managed in the table view are shown in the table.
Alternatively, you can select any element set. In this case, the table contains all elements of the initial set which correspond to the managed table view following the execution of the command.
Structure
Header
The content table includes a specific Design ribbon tab. You can use its commands to create new elements and subelements, edit properties, manage your own table views and export the current view to Microsoft Excel.
The document window tab shows the selected table view.
The header displays the namespace of the selected model element for which you are displaying the subordinate elements in the content table.
You can fill the table with new content by placing other source elements into the header using drag-and-drop.
Table
The table consists of the following columns:
-
Name
Icon and name of the model element.
-
Stereotype
Stereotype of the model element.
-
<Name>
Stereotype property/label/text definition or relationship property display name.
Note
You can view formatted text in text definitions but it cannot be modified.
If certain properties are not configured for an element, the corresponding cells are displayed in gray.
Special Table Functions
Adopt Value
You can use the Design>Edit>Adopt Value command to adopt multiple rows of the value selected in the current cell into cells of the same column of the selected rows.
Restore Default
The configured standard can be restored in the column with the active cell for the selected elements using the Design>Edit>Restore Default command.
Requirements
Requirements can be nested. They have an outline number. The outline number constitutes a composed index of the requirements within their owners. The root of the hierarchy is reached when the owner has a different element type than "Requirement".
You can indent the names of the requirements in accordance with the structure in the table to allow better orientation by clicking on the column header to sort by outline number.
