Edit Content Dialog

The dialog is used for displaying and editing model-wide and user-specific application configuration.

Purpose

You can display (and edit if required) content from model-wide and user-specific application configuration in the Edit Content dialog. Constraints are in place to avoid accidentally damaging the configuration.

An application configuration which was created in the wizard for BPMN import can be modified at a later stage or you can repair a stored search which can no longer be loaded. The text from a configuration which no longer works can easily be provided for MID support.

The dialog supports syntax highlighting and folding.

Prerequisites

You require the Edit Model-Wide Configurations privilege for making changes to model-wide application configuration.

Call

Attention

Pay particular care when making changes as configurations can be easily damaged.

  1. Model Contents tool window, Administrative Contents view

    The  Edit Content

The Administrative Contents view is only shown to users with model administrator rights.

  2. Dialogs which Show Configurations

Dialogs which show configurations have a  View Content button. Configuration content is only allowed to be viewed here so as to avoid accidentally damaging the configuration.

Editing is allowed for configurations which could not be loaded; the button is then called  Edit Content. This allows MID support to help fix the damaged configuration.

Structure

The dialog consists of:

  • Format drop-down list

Select the display format for the text here. There are XML file formats for selection, JSON and unformatted.

  •  Prettyprint button

Formats the code so that it is clearly legible.

  • Word wrap selection button

Select whether text should be wrapped.

  • Text Box

In accordance with the format selected for the configuration's formatted text.

  • OK and Cancel or Close standard buttons
