You can carry out a variety of settings for users and roles in every model.
Prerequisites
An administrator also manages a model's Innovator users.
Prerequisites for user administration for a model:
- A License Server must be started
- Model's Model Server must be started
- The Configuration Editor started for the model
- You must be logged-in as model administrator
In the following sections we will assume that these requirements are met.
Tasks
You can access the user management for the model via Configuration Editor with the Configuration>Model Administration>Manage Users menu command.
User management of models from single sign-on repositories includes:
-
Creating roles for central user management that should be used in the model (users are assigned to roles in the central user management using the login rules)
-
If applicable, renaming roles to adapt them to fit the central user management
-
Deleting roles that should no longer be used in the model
-
                            Assigning privileges to roles
-
                            Managing model logins for users
-
Storing and loading configuration files for user administration
User management of models from non-single sign-on repositories includes:
-
Loading user names from the central Innovator user management on the license server or from your network's user administration (using LDAP)
-
Creating, renaming, logging-out and deleting users
-
Initially setting and, if applicable, resetting user passwords
-
Creating user roles and assigning users to the roles
-
Creating, renaming, assigning (users and privileges) and deleting roles
-
                            Managing model logins for users
-
Storing and loading configuration files for user administration
