Managing User Roles

User roles form the basis of all Innovator permissions. Assigning privileges in the user management, as well as assigning access rights in the Innovator model editor and assigning of execution rights in the configuration editor based on these roles.

You can set up users, manage them and assign them role rights and members in the Roles tab in the Maintain Model/Manage Users dialog.

To do this, you must be logged-in as the model administrator.

Assigning privileges in the user management, as well as assigning access rights in the model editor and assigning of execution rights in the configuration editor based on these roles. This means that all users who belong to these roles as members have the corresponding rights.

If you are in non-single sign-on models, then these roles (and users) are managed locally.

You need to create roles with the same name that you want to use in the model in the central user management for single sign-on models. A normal user cannot log-in to the model unless they have at least one role.

The Roles table in the tab of the same name contains the following columns and information:

Creating a User Role

How to proceed

  1. Jump to the Roles tab in the Maintain Model/Manage Users dialog.

  2. Click on New.

A new row called User Role is inserted in the Roles table. The name is selected.
