Text Search

Searching in specification texts.

Prerequisites

The search dialog is open. You can do this by using the Find in Specifications command in the Search menu in the Start tab's search group or using the shortcut keys Ctrl+F3.You can also activate the text search in a dialog which is already open by selecting the Find in Specifications entry in the drop-down list in the dialog's header.

How to proceed
  1. Enter the pattern you want to find in the Contained Text field. This can be both strings and regular expressions.
  2. You can use the Find Element Type drop-down list to limit the search to model elements of one type. The All entry finds elements of all types.
  3. Select the specification category you want to browse in the Find in Text Definition drop-down list.
  4. You can define the search in the Search options group. It is not a good idea to use Match whole word when using wildcards.
  5. You can filter the search to selected elements and their successors, e.g. to a package.
  6. Click on Find.

The model elements found are shown in the result region.

The dialog box remains open to continue your search or add new entries. You can continue to work normally in the model while the search is being carried out.
