Storing a Search

Saving a search adds a command to the Find submenu in the Editing menu in the start menu tab; you can always run the command. This search can also be used to specify input selection when creating documentation.

Context

Store the search parameter to be able to use it as a search command.

How to proceed
  1. Try out your search and ensure that it finds the elements you want it to.Select the Show all hits in result region check box in the Quick Search tab.
  2. Click on the Save button.The Save the query. dialog box appears.
  3. Use the dialog to enter the name you want your search to be saved as in the Find submenu.Enter an English and a German description for the tool tip which will be shown in the ribbon for the command.

    A new command with the name you chose appears in the Find submenu in the Start tab.

    This search can also be used when compiling documentation commands in the configuration editor.

    Select Delete from Model from the search's context menu to delete the command from the Find submenu. The respective search is deleted and no longer available for documentation.The Edit command loads the search in the dialog.

    The Find menu can also be managed with the dialog box launcher in the Find group.
