Find and Replace in Specifications Tool Window
The tool window is used for searching and replacing text in specifications or for changing text into hyperlinks.

Structure
The Find and Replace in Specifications tool window contains two sections and buttons.

Purpose Area
The tool window can also be used for the following purposes:

Text Replacement
The search text is replaced and the existing formatting is retained.

Converting Text to Hyperlinks
The search text is changed to a hyperlink with the given hyperlink address.
You can drag an Innovator element address and drop it in the address field.

Text Replacement in Hyperlink Addresses
The search text is only searched and replaced in hyperlink addresses.
A model element can be dragged and dropped in both input fields to use the respective hyperlink.

Parameter Area
Enter the following parameters when replacing or converting:

Find what input field
String which should be in the element name you are searching for. Placeholders are not supported.
For Text Replacement in Hyperlink Addresses, you can use drag-and-drop to add a model element to the input field.

Replace with or Address input field
String which should replace the text being searched for. if nothing is entered, then only a search is carried out.
The address can be e.g. a web address or a hyperlink to an Innovator element.
For Converting Text to Hyperlinks and Text Replacement in Hyperlink Addresses, you can use drag-and-drop to add a model element to the input or address field.

Match case check box
Sets whether case sensitivity should be taken into consideration for search hits

Find whole words only check box
Sets whether the entire search word should be searched for.

You can define the following as the Search Scope:

Entire Innovator model
Search the entire Innovator model.

Within selected area
Restrict the search scope to the selected elements and their subelements.

Current selection only
Restrict the search scope to the selected elements.

In the result region
Restrict the search scope to the content of the result region.

Information about Result Region

Output in Result Region check box
Display search results in the Result region.

Overwrite result region check box
Sets whether the previous content of the result region will be replaced by the new search results instead of adding and selecting them.

Buttons

Find
Starts the search with the set parameters.

Replace All
Carries out all replacements set in purpose and parameter in the specification texts without further prompting.
Messages appear below the buttons once the operation has been executed.

Using Drag-and-Drop
-
For Converting Text to Hyperlinks, you can use drag-and-drop to add a model element to the Address input field. Then the icon and name of the element are shown instead of the input field. A link to the model element with its current name is created upon replacement.

For Text Replacement in Hyperlink Addresses, you can use drag-and-drop to add a model element to the Find what input field. Hyperlinks to the element are then replaced by the text or link in the Replace with input field.

For Text Replacement in Hyperlink Addresses, you can use drag-and-drop to add a model element to the Replace with input field. The text or the hyperlink in the Find what input field are then replaced by the link to the element in the Replace with input field.
