Rename Model Dialog

Please note the naming conventions for files when assigning a name for your own model.

Purpose

You can rename your own model in the Rename Model dialog.

Note

A managed model cannot be renamed. It is, however, possible to rename a managed model's model versions.

Prerequisites

You must have an appropriate model server rule (single sign-on) or be logged-in to the model server as administrator to be able to rename your own model.

Call

You can open the dialog in the model editor with Model>Administrative Tasks>Rename Model and in the administration program with Model>Manage>Rename (F2).

Note

You can use the Model>Save As command to store names for a local model file or rename operating system levels if this is not open.

Renaming a Model

Context

Please note the naming conventions for files when assigning a name. For example, the following special characters are not allowed: /\:*?"<>!

Attention

The model name makes up part of a model reference; this means that existing references to elements of this model no longer work once renamed.

You can only rename the currently open model with this command in the model editor.

How to proceed

Enter the new name of the model in the Rename to field.
Click on Rename.

The dialog is closed. The model is renamed.
