DDL Import Wizard
Use the DDL Import Wizard for importing DDL files.
Purpose
The DDL Import Wizard takes you through the steps necessary for importing DDL files where the source and target of the import can be set.
You can import tables, views, saved procedures and triggers from a DDL file. These can be selected in the DDL Import Wizard.
Multiple type systems may be available in the target package because of the profile import. Select a type system for the DDL import.
Note
The wizard is only available in Innovator for Information Architects.
Sequence Control Files
The $INODIR\java\InoIMInOut\configuration directory contains the control files for the DDL Import.
- stereos.xml with the customizable stereotypes used upon import
- Stereotypeoptions.xml for implementing DB options in type system options in the model upon import
Call
Select Import/Export>Import>DDL.
The top section shows which step you are currently in; from the second step onwards it also has an active back button
you can click on to go back a step.
The middle section contains the input and selection options.
At the bottom are the following buttons, if applicable:

Next button
You use this button to reach the next processing step if the step does not require the selection of a radio button.
When you have completed all the required information in the wizard, the Import button appears instead. The Import button imports directly into the selected target package.

Cancel button
This closes the wizard. If you have made any changes, you are asked if you want to save these.
The wizard contains specific areas for the individual steps.
Step 1 of 5: Select DDL file and target package
How to proceed

Select a DDL file.

Select the target package in the model where the database elements should be imported.

Click on Next.
The wizard jumps to step 2 Selection of type system if multiple type systems are imported to the target package.
The wizard jumps to step 3 Selection of database objects to be imported if precisely one type system is imported to the target package.

Context
Select the type system that should used for the master data types and type system options.

Select a type system.

Click on Next.
The wizard jumps to the next step.

Activate the appropriate check boxes in order to select the database objects in the DDL file that you want to import.

Click on Next.
The wizard jumps to the next step.
Step 4: Selection of import type
Context
You can choose between:

Standard Import
In the next step, you select the database elements to be imported.

Advanced import
Open the DB manager, which provides advanced comparison and import functions.
How to proceed

To select the import variant, click on the relevant button.
The wizard jumps to the next processing step or to the DB Manager editor.
Step 5: Selection of database elements
How to proceed

Select the database elements that you want to import into your model.

Click on Import.
The selected database elements are imported into the target package that you selected in Step 1.
A progress indicator appears, telling you roughly how much longer the import will take.
The imported database elements are listed in the The import was successful dialog.
