Modify Change Set's Properties Dialog

Change the name and comment for a change set and define a link to an external system.

Purpose

The Modify Change Set's Properties dialog is used for changing the name and comment for an active change set and for defining a link to an external system.

Structure

The dialog consists of the Name, Comment, Link and ID input fields, Test button and OK and Abort buttons.

The name and comment are for the identification of the change set.

The link to an external system (such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server) is for reproducing model changes in collaborative software projects. The corresponding system ID can be specified as link text. The Test button allows the immediate check of the link.

Changing the Properties of a Change Set

Prerequisites

The change set is activated.

Context

You can call the dialog for changing the properties of an active change set in the Change Sets backstage view or in the details of the change set.

How to proceed

Select the active change set in the Change Sets backstage view and click on Properties or
Select Change Sets>Change Sets>Properties in an active change set.

The Modify Change Set's Properties dialog appears.
Change the name of the change set.
Change the comment about the change set.
If applicable, change the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for an external system and click on Test to verify it.
If applicable, change the identification (ID) in the external system that is used as the link text.
Confirm with OK.
