Authorized Users Dialog

This dialog returns the available roles and authorized users for models in single sign-on repositories as well as the authorized roles of the users in the model.

Purpose

The dialog returns the following information for models in single sign-on repositories:

  • Roles that are available in the model due to its user management

  • Authorized users with Windows user name, domain and user name in the model as well as their available roles in the model

You can filter and sort the table entries.

Prerequisites

The dialog can be called if the following prerequisites are met:

  • As a user or group member, you have the Manage Users right or are logged-in to the main license server as administrator.

  • The model is in a repository with single sign-on.

Call

To open the dialog, click on the Authorized Users button in the Current Logins area in the Administrative Tasks backstage view.

Structure

The dialog consists of the header with the available roles and the table with the effective login rules.

Header

The header displays all of the roles that are available in the model due to its user management.

If there is insufficient space in the header for the full display, use the tool tip to see all of the roles.

Login Rules Table

The Login Rules table lists all authorized users and their available roles in the model.

Table Columns

  • Display field (#/#)

    Display of number of displayed groups and total number of groups.

  • <Filter> input field

    Filter field for restricting the group table display.

  • Name

    Name of the user in the system (Windows user name); is used together with the domain as authorization.

  • Domain

    Required on Windows to determine the user name along with the Windows user name and to authenticate the user.

  • User Name in Model

    Display name assigned which is used for logging-in users into models if the Single Sign-On property is activated for the repository and the entry in the Name column corresponds to the Windows user name. If no name is given, then the Windows user name is used.

  • Role

    A role's name or pattern can be selected from the list of roles or directly entered. The list of roles comes from the entries in Roles tab.

Buttons

  • Manage Users...

    Calls the central user management on the main license server so that you can edit the login rules on the basis of groups.

  • Export CSV File...

    Calls the default dialog for saving a CSV file with the content of the Login Rules table.

    The export encoding is UTF-8.

    Note

    This coding can only be set in Excel upon data retrieval (Data>Get & Transform Data>From Text/CSV).

    To also use the header in Excel, use the Transform Data button instead of Load in the import dialog and use the Home>Transform>Use First Row as Headers command in the PowerQuery Editor.

  • Export CSV File...

    Calls the default dialog for saving a CSV file with the content of this table.

  • Close
