Configuring Models

Model configuration includes managing and preparing model templates and profiles.

This chapter in the Help contains a description of the configuration editor and the main work steps which are necessary for configuring models.

You will learn how to use the configuration editor and how to use profiles for models and how to use extension profiles to make adjustments.

The idea behind model configuration is to define permissible model elements and their relationships. Configuration occurs within the framework of certain notations' semantic and syntax.

The modeler encounters these definitions as available model elements with a specific meaning, which can be displayed in a certain form and created and designed in a certain way and be given a relationship to another element.

Note

You can manage the model's users, their roles, rights and logins in the Configuration Editor (as with the Administration Program). You can find information about this topic in the "Managing Users, Roles and Rights" chapter.

The model documentation's configuration also belongs to the model's configuration. The respective views are only briefly described in this Help, without going into detail about how the actual documentation structure is organized. You can find information about this topic in the "Creating Documentation" chapter.
