Exporting Models to a New Repository
A repository administrator can export a model to a new repository.
Prerequisites
You must be logged-in as a repository administrator in the exporting repository.
The exporting repository or a model to be exported from it must be selected in the server tree.
Context
You can export existing models in a separate, new repository.
Enter the name of the new repository for the exported model in the dialog. The name is the repository's directory name.
A model's Export model with change log option determines whether existing change sets are taken into account for the export. You can make this setting in the model editor in the Administrative Tasks backstage view.
If you export all models of a repository and the Export model with change log option is activated in each model, then this generates a current and complete copy of the repository.
How to proceed
-
Select the exporting repository or one of its models in the server tree.
-
Select Model>Repository>Export Models.
The dialog of the same name appears..
-
To select the target directory for the new repository, click on Browse... and confirm your selection in the standard dialog with OK.
The directory appears in the Directory field.
-
Specify the name of the repository for the models to be exported in the Repository field. The name is the repository's directory name.
-
Activate the check boxes of the models that you want to export to the repository. If you have called the command for a selected model, the check box is already active.
-
To start the model server of the repository immediately after the export process, activate the Start model server after export check box.
-
Confirm with OK.
The models are exported to the new repository. The new repository's model server is started if you click on Start model server after export.
