Creating an Independent Model
Administrators can create standalone models on an active model server using a model template or existing data.
Prerequisites
A standalone model can only be created on an active model server in the network. The model requires a unique name on this repository. However, models with the same name can exist on other repositories.
You need to enter the repository administrator's password on a non-single sign-on repository to create a new model. One model server rule is sufficient for sign sign-on.
You require a login rule which applies to the name when logging-in to the model using single sign-on.
Context
You want to create a new model in the Administration Program and start modeling there.
How to proceed
-
Jump to the Standalone Model tab.
-
Select a repository in the server tree that you are logged-in as administrator for or select a model in this repository when in single sign-on with a model server rule.
-
Select Model>Create>New Model.
The New Model Wizard appears and guides you through the process for creating your new model in just a few steps.
-
There are many ways to create a new element:
- Create a new model from a stored model template.
- Create a new model as a copy of an existing model.
- Create a new model from a model fragment from a saved file that can be found in the file system.
