Automatically Logging-Out Inactive Users

You can set a time criteria for inactive users so they are automatically logged-out after a certain amount of time for all models on a model server.

Setting Time Limit for Inactive Users

Context

The model administrator can either manually log inactive users out in the configuration editor or this can be an automatic process to e.g. release model elements which have been locked for exclusive editing.

You can set a time limit in minutes for a user's inactivity where they have not been active in the model server.

The time frame must be at least 10 minutes. 0 or empty deactivate this mechanism.

How to proceed

Select the required repository from the server tree.
If you are not yet logged-in as a repository administrator, select Model>Model Server>Login and enter the password.

You have now logged-in to the repository as administrator.
Select View>View>Edit Properties.

The repository's properties appear in the workspace.
Jump to the Inactivity section.
Enter a positive integer larger than 9 in the Inactivity after (min) if you want to set the time frame for period of inactivity. Leave the field empty or enter 0 if you do not wish to make any settings.

Users that have not been active in the model server for the period of time entered are considered inactive and can either be manually logged-out by the user in the configuration editor or automatically by Innovator..

Activating Automatic Logout of Inactive Users

Context

Users that have not been active in the model server for the period of time entered are considered inactive and can be manually logged-out automatically by Innovator.

If this option is set, then users are automatically logged-out if they are inactive for a certain period of time.

How to proceed

Open the Administration Program.
Select the required repository from the server tree.
If you are not yet logged-in as a repository administrator, select Model>Model Server>Login and enter the password.

You have now logged-in to the repository as administrator.
Select View>View>Edit Properties.

The repository's properties appear in the workspace.
Jump to the Inactivity section.
Activate the Automatically log out inactive users check box.

Users that have not been active in the model server for the set period of time are automatically logged-out by Innovator. Model elements locked for exclusive editing by these users are reactivated.
