Creating a New Class in the Diagram

A class can be created from the mini toolbar in the context menu, from the gallery in the ribbon or in connection with the creation of a relationship edge.

Context

By creating a class, you are abstracting a group from objects in the real world by determining and displaying their common properties, restrictions and semantics.

How to proceed

Place the mouse pointer at the chosen position in the class diagram and select the class template from the mini toolbar in the context menu.

A new class is created in the diagram. The name of the class is automatically selected to be edited.
Enter the name for the class and confirm with the [Enter] key.

Tip

You can create various element types in Innovator diagrams in this way. The types of elements available in the mini toolbar primarily depend on the diagram type used, the model template used and the user role selected in a model.
