Subscribing to Model Changes
Single sign-on model users can be notified via e-mail at certain time intervals about changes to model elements.
Using User Notifications
You can get e-mails about changes made to certain model elements.
Click on Review>Notifications>Set Up in the Properties tool window to use the following properties for a model element which you select in the Model Structure or Model Element List. You will then be sent notifications about changes to the model element or its transitive content via e-mail at the time interval you set.
-
Promptly -
Daily -
Weekly -
Monthly
The Daily property is automatically activated by default. You can activate multiple notification schedules if e.g. you want to find out about changes straight away in the current project phase, but normally only want to be notified e.g. weekly.
Schedule icons are shown for model elements if the
View>Notifications>Subscriptions toggle command is activated.
Note
If you want to change the notification schedule, then first activate the desired schedule. If all schedules are deactivated, then the properties are removed and may need to be set-up again.
The icon for the last active notification schedule is shown for each model element respectively.
Model elements can be assigned to an existing notification schedule using Drag-and-Drop.
Review>Notifications>Delete stops notifications for changes to the model element. The properties and icon are removed from the model element.
Deactivating Notifications
To retain your notification schedules but temporarily pause notifications, deactivate the individual schedules or all schedules in the Notifications tool window view.
To pause all schedules, select your user entry in the tree structure and deactivate the is Active property in the Properties tool window. The user entry and all subordinate elements are grayed out. The notification schedules and respective model element properties will be retained.
To pause certain notifications (e.g. Promptly), select the notification schedule in the tree structure and deactivate the is Active property in the Properties tool window. The schedule entry and all subordinate elements are grayed out. The notification schedule and respective model element properties will be retained.
Administrating Notifications
If you have administration rights, then you can manage user notifications in an Innovator model and control what happens when the model is exported.
The administrator can see three properties for the Innovator model in the Properties tool window.
-
Export with Notifications
The property sets whether existing user notifications are exported along with the model or not.
-
Manage Notifications
The property is only visible if user notifications exist in the model. These user notifications can be active or inactive. The value displayed corresponds to the settings collected for all user notifications. These can either be All Active or All Inactive. No Changes is used if there are both active and inactive notifications. Changing to another value also changes the user notification accordingly. Only no changes are made for No Changes.
-
Notifications are Active
The property is only visible if user notifications exist in the model. The property is activated when the first user notification is created and it is deactivated when the last user notification is deleted. You can temporarily (de)activate user notifications by using the property without needing to change the settings for individual notifications.
