The Delete from Model dialog shows which elements will be deleted and which, if any, cannot be deleted; this enables the user to decide whether the deletion should take place or not.
The dialog is always shown if elements are to be deleted from the model using the Delete from Model (Shift+Del) command. The dialog does not appear if elements are to be removed from the diagram.
The dialog shows a list of elements to be deleted. This may mean that the list not only contains the selected elements but also other elements, as these elements can no longer exist if the selected elements are deleted. These can be e.g. edges which are attached to the elements to be deleted or elements which have the element to be deleted as owner.
If there are a lot of elements to be deleted then not all elements are displayed; instead, the last item in the list is the fill-in “...�.
You can permanently delete the listed elements from the model using the Delete from Model button in the dialog.
Deleting model elements cannot be undone! Elements deleted like this can only be restored by importing model fragments previously saved in a file.
It may be the case that elements cannot be deleted. These are then shown in a second list.
To determine the consequences of a delete operation, you can add the elements to be deleted to the Result Region tool window using the Add to Result Region button. This will not delete the elements from the model.
