Setting-Up Database Connections

Innovator can communicate directly with relational database systems. A data model is connected to a database by creating a database connection using a wizard.

You can connect a data model directly with a relational database system. The applicable Database Import Wizard is available in the Enterprise edition.

You need to directly or indirectly import the Database Modeling profile into the system model to be able to use the wizard's functions. A container for database connections called Database Connections needs to exist below the system model.

You can create, modify and copy database connections in the wizard.

The database connection is a requirement in order to import, update or extend the database model using a relational database.
