Coloring Elements in the Diagram

There are four alternative methods for coloring model elements: default colors, method colors, color labels and custom colors.

Diagram elements can be colored using a command from the View>Colors group according to one of the following options:

  1. No color (Base Colors)
Color is determined by the integrated, fixed Base Colors so that e.g. all entities are shown as green.
  2. In the color of the stereotype (Method Colors)
The method color set for a stereotype in the configuration is used.
  3. In the color of a label (configured Color Label)
The color set for a label value in the configuration is used.
  4. Individually for individual diagram nodes and edges (Custom Colors)
You can individually color diagram nodes and edges. The same model element can have another color in another diagram as color is assigned to the graphic and not the logical element.
Note:

If a stereotype's (2) or a label's (3) color is used for coloring then an extra icon of the same color is also shown where the element is in the model structure.

Coloring Particular Diagram Elements

Context

The representation by color of the model elements can be customized in each diagram. You can color each graphic representation of a model element individually.

How to proceed

  1. In the diagram, select the model elements that you want to color with the same color.
  2. To assign a color previously selected in the submenu, select Design>Model Elements>Colorize.

The color displayed in the icon will be applied to the selected model elements. The color view  Custom Colors is activated automatically.

  3. To assign a color not previously selected, click on the submenu of the Design>Model Elements>Colorize command.

The Windows standard color selection appears.

  4. Select a color.

The color is applied to the selected model elements. The color view  Custom Colors is activated automatically.

Removing a Custom Color

How to proceed

  1. In the diagram, select the model elements from which you want to remove the custom color.
  2. Click on the submenu of the Design>Model Elements>Colorize command.

The Windows standard color selection appears.

  3. Select  No Color.

The custom color is removed. If there are other custom colored model elements, the color view  Custom Colors is automatically activated. Otherwise the existing color view is kept.
