Dialog Open a Model on a Repository Server

Prerequisites

This dialog appears when logging-in to a model if you are not already logged-in.

This dialog only exists in the Enterprise edition.

Context

You can use the mouse, arrow keys and first letters in the model's name to select a model from the left-hand area.

The buttons at the top can be used for sorting by model name or repository name. Starting to type the name jumps to the respective model or repository name.

You can limit which models and/or repositories fit with the pattern in the Filter field, depending on the sorting.

Select the user name and role in the right-hand area. A password is assigned to each role if applicable.

The User drop-down list contains all user names known in the model. Only the name of authorized users appear alongside the model administrator and guest roles when using single sign-on.

The MID user configurations for the model templates included within the scope of delivery contain the following default users:

• The standard user model administrator has all rights for use and configuration of the model.

• The standard user guest has "read-only rights" (no rights) and can log-in to the model more than once as a single user. As a guest you can read the model without the risk of changing something accidentally. You must select a different user to work in the model.

A role also needs to be selected when a user is chosen. The default users "Model Administrator" and "Guest" do not have roles.

If a user is already logged-in, this is shown when opening the Name and Role user lists. These cannot then be changed.

If the <Password> field is activated then you need to enter a password if one was assigned for the user. You do not need to enter the password if you are already logged-in as another user or Guest or if you chose the authorized user when logging-in for single sign-on. You always require a password when logging-in as "Model Administrator".

Any obstacles that exist for login are shown below the login group.

Open the selected model using the arrow keys.

If you successfully login as a normal user, the model is stored in the list of most recently used models (Login submenu and the start page).

How to proceed

1. Select the model from the left-hand list.
2. Select a user from the Namedrop-down list.
3. If the Role drop-down list is active, select a role.
4. Enter the user's password in the <Password> field.
5. Click on Login.

   The dialog is closed. The model page is opened. This may take some time.

6. Jump to the start page to open more models.
