Arranging Document and Tool Windows
You can put interface elements in many different places. You can arrange document windows in the central document window area and tool window to anywhere in the application window. They are then supported by arrangement icons. Document windows and tool windows can also be used as floating windows.
Document Windows and Tool Windows Properties
The program interface can have a title bar, ribbon and status bar; it can also contain two other interface elements: the central document window area1 and the tool window area.
The two areas differentiate from each other in the fact that tool windows can be arranged in the document area but document windows 2 cannot be stored in the tool window area.
Context menus are available for the titles of the documents and the tool window. The context menu for a tool window always starts with Float; the context menu for a document always starts with Close.
All tool windows and certain documents (all diagram editors, specification text editor, dependency editor and preview window for model documentation) can all be floating in the Innovator interface.
Attention
Use the context menu or the shortcut keys (zoom in [F9]) instead of the ribbon when working with floating diagrams.
The table shows where commands are available, what they are for and what they do.
