Find Type System Option

Looking for model elements in databases based on their type system option.

Context

You can search databases in a targeted manner for model elements that have a certain type system option of a certain type system in the Find dialog.

The drop-down list of element types is not influenced by the presence of type system options.

The drop-down list of conditions is determined by the type of the selected type system option.

You can restrict the search to certain conditions for the values of the type system option.

How to proceed

  1. Select Start>Browse>Find (Ctrl+F).

The dialog of the same name appears.

  2. Select the Find Type System Option tab.

  3. Select the type of the element to find from the Element Type drop-down list.

  4. Deactivate the Itemize only instantiated types check box if you do not want to constrain the drop-down list of element types to the element types used in the model.

The search will not return any hits for these element types but it may be useful if you want to save the search without it being linked to the current model.

  5. Select the type system you want to search for the type system option in in the Type System drop-down list.

  6. Select the option you want to search for in the Type System Option drop-down list.

  7. Select an operator from the Condition drop-down list. The operators that appear differ depending on the type of type system option.

  8. Select the value from the Value drop-down list or enter the value that the search results should have, depending on the condition previously selected. The input option depends on the type of type system option.

  9. If you do not want to restrict the search, select the Entire Innovator model entry from the Search Scope drop-down list in the Search Options group.

  10. If you want to constrain the search to selected elements and their subelements, e.g. a package, then select the Within selected area entry.

  11. If you want to constrain the search to selected elements, then select the Current selection only entry.

  12. If you want to constrain the search to the current content in the Result region, then select the In the result region entry.

  13. Activate the Overwrite result region check box in the Search Options group if you want the search hits to replace the previous content in the result region.

If you do not do this, then the results are added to the previous results.

  14. Click on Find.

The dialog remains open to continue your search or add new entries. You can continue to work normally in the model while the search is being carried out.
