Model Contents Tool Window

The Model Contents tool window shows various views of the model.

Purpose

The Model Contents tool window shows various views of the model. Either all elements in the model or only those which correspond to the respective filter are hierarchically displayed, normally in a tree structure.

Structure

You can change between the various views using the buttons below the display area (the accordion).

Standard tool window views:

  • Diagrams

The view shows all diagrams of the model sorted alphabetically according to diagram type and, below that, a preview for the selected diagram that can be expanded.

  • Model Structure

The view shows the hierarchical structure of the entire model, split into the model tree for the structural elements of the model and the list of the respective structure content.

You can display the subordinate elements for a selected structure element in the Model Element List.

You can use the context menu in the model tree to create new subelements, rename, delete or move elements, etc.

  • Bookmarks

The view can be used for quick access to frequently used elements. Model elements which you assigned to your bookmarks via the Add to Bookmarks command are shown here.

  • Notifications

The view displays the set notifictions about changes to model elements.

Other tool window views:

  • Process Hierarchy

The view appears if the model contains processes. It shows calls between all processes in the model.

  • Administrative Contents

The view is only available with the Configure privilege or administrator rights. It enables quick access to application configurations, database connections and translations to e.g. make them available to other models.

  • Access Rights

The view is only available to the model administrator. It can be used for (re)setting access rights and read rights for model sections for individual roles.

Drag-and-Drop to Other Areas

You can use the mouse (left mouse button pressed) to drag elements into other areas.

  • Elements can be dragged into the result region and are then added.
  • Elements can be dragged into an open diagram if they are allowed as contents in the diagram and do not already exist there. This only works for logical elements (e.g. classes), i.e. it does not work if diagram elements (e.g. class nodes) are shown in the Details area.
  • Elements can be dragged into the bookmarks list.
