Comparison Window for Textual Properties

In the Align Models editor, a comparison window can be opened for the texts of a textual property from the current model or from the current model and another model. You can display the differences between the values in detail here.

Purpose

The comparison window for textual properties displays the differences between the texts of a textual property of two compared elements. In Merge mode, you are shown how the text would change in a merge in the lower Summary area.

You cannot make any merge decisions in the comparison window. Individual differences within the text cannot be copied.

Prerequisites

In the properties area of the Align Models editor, you have selected a non-empty, textual property that is not a single.

Call

Open the comparison window using Open Comparison Window.

The comparison window is updated automatically when you select another textual property.

The comparison window is closed with the Align Models editor.

Features

  • Analysis of differences of textual properties
  • In Compare mode, marking of differences from the other side
  • In Merge mode, marking of text changes in case of merge in the lower Summary area, too

Structure

The name of the property (textual property or specification type) is displayed in the window tab and the corresponding element is displayed in the tool tip.

The differences from the other side are marked in the texts of the properties.

In Merge mode, there is a lower Summary area, where the insertions and deletions in the case of a subsequent merge are marked.
