Create or Modify User Dialog

This dialog is for creating users and changing their details. You can also assign the "Manage Users" right to a user here.

Purpose

In this dialog, you create new users and change their details. You can also assign the Manage Users right to a user here.

Prerequisites

In order to call the central user management on the main license server in the administration program and use its functions, you must be logged-in to the license server as an administrator or your user must have the Manage Users right (normally as a group member).

You can change the details of manually created users only. You cannot change the details of users that are managed in external user configurations.

You can change the Manage Users right for each user.

Call

  1. Select  New>User in the Users tab to create a user and enter their details (Ctrl+Shift+U).

  2. To change the details for a user or to change their Manage Users right, go to the Users tab, select the user, and then select   Edit>Properties (Enter).

Structure

The dialog consists of the following elements:

  • System Login field

    Name of the user in the system (Windows user name); is used together with the domain.

  • Domain field

    Required on Windows to determine the user name along with the system login and to authenticate the user.

  • User Name in Model field

    Display name assigned which is used for logging-in users into models if the Single Sign-On property is activated for the repository and the entry in the System Login column corresponds to the system login. If no name is given, then the system login is used.

  • Manage Users check box

    Right to manage license server users. This right also includes the right to assign this right.

  • OK and Cancel standard buttons

Creating Innovator Users

Context

In addition to being transferred from an external user configuration, users can also be included in the user list manually.

You use manually created users to add users in domains that are not managed by the LDAP server.

How to proceed

  1. Select  New>User in the Users tab to create a user (Ctrl+Shift+U).

    A dialog appears.

  2. Enter the name of the user in the system in the System Login field.

  3. Enter the user's Windows domain in the system in the Domain field.

  4. Enter the name of the user to be used in the models in the User Name in Model field.

  5. Activate the check box with the same name to assign the Manage Usersright to the user.

  6. Confirm with OK.

Changing Users

Prerequisites

You can only change the details for a manually created user.

You make changes for LDAP users in the central user management in order to update them in the Innovator central user management by means of a synchronization with the LDAP server.

How to proceed

  1. To change a user, select the user and then select  Edit>Properties (Enter).

    A dialog appears.

  2. Change the name of the user in the system in the System Login field.

  3. Change the user's Windows domain in the system in the Domain field.

  4. Change the name of the user to be used in the models in the User Name in Model field.

  5. To change the Manage Users right, activate or deactivate the check box with the same name.

  6. Confirm with OK.
