Assign Groups Dialog

You make a user or a group a member of Innovator groups. You cannot change an LDAP membership.

Purpose

In the dialog, you assign a selected user or a selected group to one or more groups so that the assigned user or group adopts the rules of the group to which it is assigned.

Prerequisites

In order to call the central user management on the main license server in the administration program and use its functions, you must be logged-in to the license server as an administrator or your user must have the Manage Users right (normally as a group member).

You can only make this assignment for manually created Innovator groups. Assignments of external LDAP groups are managed on the LDAP server.

You are in the user management in the Groups or Users tab.

Assigning Groups

Prerequisites

You can only make this assignment for manually created Innovator groups. Assignments of external LDAP groups are managed on the LDAP server.

Context

In the dialog, you assign a selected user or a selected group to one or more groups so that the assigned user or group adopts the rules of the group to which it is assigned.

How to proceed

  1. To restrict the list of displayed groups, enter a name component into the filter field.

The drop-down list is restricted to the entries that correspond to the filter in any of the fields.

  2. To assign a group to the user or group, activate the check box in the relevant row.

  3. Confirm the selection with OK.

The groups with the activated check box are assigned to the group or user and the group rules are evaluated for these.
