Model Language Dialog
Defines the languages which is used in the model editor for model elements when no display language is selected.
Purpose
The language which is used for the modeling is shown in the Model Language dialog.
The current model language has the following effects:
- This language determines hyphenation for word wrapping in diagrams if no display language is selected
- Spell check in text editors is carried out using this language; it can be activated in the Options dialog
Attention
Changing the model language is only appropriate when starting modeling, so that you can use language-specific word wrapping in diagrams and spell check in specification texts.
Making changes at a later stage will mean that you will have to manually rename numerous model elements and may need to retranslate profile and metamodel content.
Prerequisites
You require model administrator rights.
Call
You can find the Model Language button in the Manage Languages backstage view.
Structure
The drop-down list displays the currently set model language. You can change this.
Changing the Model Language
Context
By changing the model language, you change the hyphenation used for breaks in all languages. Diagram nodes can thus become larger and move other ones in order to maintain the same gaps.
The change in the size of diagram nodes only takes place when a diagram is opened. This can be done manually or through the documentation or export of the model. You can therefore check the consequences of a changed break in existing diagrams by opening the diagrams in Read-Only Mode.
How to proceed
-
In the list, select the model language that you want to use for your model.
-
Click on OK.
The selected model language is used to determine hyphenation in the case of breaks in diagrams if no display language is chosen.
Breaks are inserted into the prescribed names for model elements in diagrams in a language-specific manner.
