Create New Element Wizard
The wizard for creating a new element takes you through the process of creating an element step-by-step.
Purpose
The wizard appears if an element you require is not available and needs to be created.
The Create New Element wizard takes you through the steps needed to create an element.
Prerequisites
The templates required for creating an element need to exist.
Call
The wizard is always available if create templates or owners cannot be determined or cannot be determined uniquely for the element to be created.
The wizard appears following an appropriate query or in the Select Owner for {0}Select Owner for {0} dialog when you click on Create New Element. You can then use the wizard to create a new element as owner.
This owner needs its own owner that already exists in the model.

At the top, you can see the current step. As of the second step, a "Back" button () is active. You can use this to return to the previous step.
The middle shows the selection and input options.
The bottom contains the Next or Finish buttons and always Abort.
Step 1 of 2: Select template
How to proceed

Select the new element type for the selected element from the Which type should the new element become? list.

Enter the name of the element in the Name field.

Click on Next.
Step 2 of 2: Select owner

You can use a search to select an existing owner for the element to be created itself so that it can be integrated in the diagram. Enter a name component and click on
.
The first element with that name component is jumped to in the model tree.

Click on
again to jump to other elements with the name component. A query appears asking if you want to start the search from the beginning again when no more elements can be found.

To limit the selection to a certain element type, select Element Type from the drop-down list.

To create the new element and integrate it where the selection is made in the model, click on Finish.
The element is created and integrated into the model.
If you called the wizard using the Select Owner for {0} dialog, then this dialog appears and you can confirm the new owner for the model element to be created with OK.
