Ignoring Imported Menus and Menu Commands
You can ignore imported menus and menu commands. This makes sense if, for example, you want to compile the menus in your extension profiles differently than in the standard configuration.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites need to be fulfilled before imported menus and menu commands can be ignored:
- The importing profile is locked
- In this profile, the imported menu or menu command that you want to ignore is selected
Context
Imported menus and menu commands can be flagged as "ignored" in an importing profile. These menus and menu commands are then treated as if they were never created. Menu commands in ignored menus are automatically ignored.
If the MID standard configuration allows menus, for example, but you want a different menu at this point in a project, you can ignore the imported menu in the extension profile and create the new menu directly.
You can call the Edit>Ignore menu command in the Menus view.
How to proceed
-
Lock the importing profile which the menu or menu command should be ignored for.
-
In the profile tree, select the profile element whose menu you want to adjust.
-
Select the entry which the menu or menu command that you want to ignore belongs to in the Menu drop-down list.
The current assignments are displayed in the assignment compartment.
-
From the assignment compartment, select the menu or menu command that you want to ignore.
The
Edit>Ignore command becomes active.
-
Select the Edit>Ignore menu command.
The menu or menu command's icon is replaced by the
Ignore icon.
The menu or menu command behaves as if it had not been defined.
