Assigning Execution Rights for User Roles
You can assign menu command execution rights in profiles for create templates, verification routines, engineering actions (action sequences) and documentation commands.
Basic Authorizations
If your role has the Configure privilege, then the roles that you can be yourself are shown in the profile tree. You can edit the execution rights for these roles.
If you are logged-in as a model administrator, all roles that are available in the model are displayed in the profile tree. You can edit the execution rights for all roles.
Assigning an Execution Right to a User Role
Prerequisites
You need to be in the Execution Rights view for assigning menu command execution rights for create templates, verification routines, engineering actions (action sequences) or documentation commands.
Your role requires at least the Configure privilege.
The profile that you want to edit must be locked for editing.
All roles that the logged-in user can have are offered.
Context
Before create templates, verification routines, engineering actions or documentation commands can be used by certain user roles, these roles first need to have execution roles for the respective menu commands.
It is also possible to distribute various profiles (and their uses too) to one menu command in various user roles.
Loading a profile (by importing a profile template or model fragment) only changes the execution rights if the profile also contains execution rights.
Execution rights which were assigned in other profiles (e.g. in special profiles for execution rights) are not changed.
The profile tree when in model administrator mode contains a leaf node for each of the model's user roles in each profile. This node is used to set which commands mean that the respective user roles are assigned execution rights in a profile. A user role's effective execution rights in the model are derived by adding individual execution rights from all profiles which are imported from this model.
If the Adopt access rights from execution rights property is activated for a create template used, then all roles with the execution right also receive the access right to elements that are created with this create template.
You can deactivate the View>Imported Entries toggle command to restrict the selection on the right-hand side to the entries defined in the current profile in this view.
