Moving Model Versions in the Hierarchy

Model versions can be moved in the version structure of the model in order to depict its hierarchy. The sorting in a hierarchy is always alphabetical.

Prerequisites

The selected model version (including backups) to be moved in the version tree must be started. Other versions of the model do not need to be active.

You require a version rule that fits the model's name.

Context

The depiction of the nodes correspond to the depiction in the version tree.

For the positioning in the hierarchy of the versions, only nodes that allow an assignment are offered, so not the subnodes of the version, for example.

A model version cannot be positioned beneath backups. Backups are always leaves.

Backups cannot be moved.

The selection of the model node means that the model version will be positioned at the very top level.

The selection of a model version means that the model version will be positioned beneath the selected model version.

The order is always alphabetical.

How to proceed

  1. In the version tree, select the started model version that you want to move in the version hierarchy of the model.

    The Model>Manage>Move command is activated.

  2. Select Model>Manage>Move.

The dialog of the same name appears.

  3. In the hierarchy tree, select the node beneath which you want to position the model version.

  4. Confirm with OK or press the [Enter] key.

    The dialog is closed.

The model version or backup is positioned in the version tree beneath the selected node. The order within the level is always alphabetical.
