Locking and Unlocking Model Versions
An administrator can lock a model server to carry out administrative tasks by preventing users from logging-in to model versions. They can then permit the users to log-in again.
Locking Model Versions by Preventing Model Logins
Context
Lock the model version by preventing logins if you wish to carry out administrative tasks for the model version.
You can inform the users of the reason for this restriction, e.g. closing the model version for back-up using external version management.
When a model version is selected, you can use the View>View>Show Information command in the Logins section to show whether current user logins exist.
How to proceed

Select the model version that you want to lock in the version tree.

Select View>View>Edit Properties.
The properties of the model version appear in the workspace.

Jump to the Logins section.

Activate the Logins are forbidden radio button.
The text field below becomes active.

Enter the reason for blocking the logins in the text box.
This reason is displayed to users who want to log-in to the model version.
Unlocking Model Versions by Permitting Logins
Context
Once you have completed the administrative tasks you can permit users to log-in again.
How to proceed

Select the desired model version in the version tree.

Select View>View>Edit Properties.
The properties of the model version appear in the workspace.

Jump to the Logins section.

Activate the Logins are permitted radio button.
After that users can log-in again.
