Locking and Unlocking Model Servers

A model administrator can lock a model server to carry out administrative tasks by preventing users from logging-in to all models on the model server. They can then permit the users to log-in again.

Locking Model Servers by Preventing Model Logins

Context

Lock the model server by preventing logins to all models on the model server if you wish to carry out administrative tasks with models in the repository.

You can inform the users of the reason for this restriction, e.g. closing the model server for backup using external version management or exporting a model to a new repository.

When a model is selected, you can use the View>View>Show Information command in the Logins section to show whether current user logins exist.

How to proceed

  1. Select the model server in the server tree which you want to lock.

  2. If you are not yet logged-in as a repository administrator, select Login in the context menu.

You have now logged-in to the repository as administrator.

  3. Select View>View>Edit Properties.

The repository's properties appear in the workspace.

  4. Jump to the Logins section.

  5. Activate the Logins are forbidden radio button.

The text field below becomes active.

  6. Enter the reason for blocking the logins in the text box.

This reason is displayed to users who want to log-in to models of the model server.

Unlocking Model Servers by Permitting Logins

Context
