Describing Business Processes
You can use a business process cooperation viewpoint to define a high-level view of business processes.
With the business process cooperation viewpoint, ArchiMate® provides a high-level view of business processes with which the responsibilities and dependencies for business processes can be depicted.
Note
In ArchiMate®, colors represent different pieces of information. The default color scheme categorizes the elements into the respective level of the enterprise architecture.
To use this color scheme, which is defined in the model template, select View>Colors>Method Colors.
To provide a rough description of the business processes in your enterprise architecture, proceed as follows:
-
Create a business process cooperation viewpoint as an overview diagram
-
Create a role to depict the people responsible for one or more business process
-
Create a business process to model certain processes that occur in a corporate division
-
Connect business processes to each other to express their temporal or causal dependencies
