Using the Sort Order

You can influence the order in which elements of a model element enumeration chapter are shown.

Setting the Sort Order for the Model Enumeration Chapter

You can use the Features tab of an enumeration chapter to set the order in which model elements appear. The following sortings are supported:

  • None (order from model server)
  • Alphabetical
  • User-defined (current order in model editor)
  • Creation time
  • Modification date

The sorting can also be reversed.

If a model element enumeration chapter is used as an enumeration column in a table, then its sorting normally determines the table sorting. if no sorting is set for this chapter, then an additional structuring chapter for a subchapter can be sorted according to its column.

Setting Global Sort Orders

You can also set the standard sort order for a documentation selection. This applies for all chapters which have not got a sort order set for them and support this sort order.

Using Extra Structuring Chapters for Sorting

Global sorting is not evaluated for extra structuring chapters with a set sorting type. Extra structuring chapters can, therefore, determine their own sorting. However, if a model element enumeration chapter has explicitly got its own sorting set, then the sorting of the structuring chapter above it is not evaluated.
