Mapping Change Display

Model elements are created and modified during mapping. It depends on the selection of existing model elements as to what is created or modified.

Prerequisites

You have started the Mapping editor with a mapping between the database schema and the conceptual model.An engineering action with the Update tag is defined.

You have selected elements and the target model is set.

Context

You want to carry out the mapping and make changes to the model.

The model elements are highlighted in the target model's structure.

Font Color	Meaning
Blue	Modified Model Elements
Green	Newly-Created Model Elements
Red	Model elements that can be deleted. Model elements are not automatically deleted.
Orange	Linked Model Elements
Black	Unmodified Model Elements

How to proceed

Select Mapping>Map Model>Execute.

You can see the changes made to the model on the right-hand side of the mapping area. The model elements are highlighted in the model structure.
Select Mapping>Filter>Show all.

The unmodified model elements are shown in Black.
