Customizing Standard ER-DB Mapping

The document describes how to customize ER-DB mapping in the M2M-SDK configuration editor. The document is based on the M2M configurator and SDK developer.

Prerequisites

You have the Configurating privilege.

Context

You can customize a model transformation to suit your corporate identity and, by doing so, use your own specific requirements for ER-DB mapping.

How to proceed

  1. Open the configuration editor in Innovator.
  2. Select an existing profile in which you can create the action sequence or create a new profile if necessary.
  3. Select Edit>Lock.

The profile is marked as locked if you have sufficient rights.

  4. Jump to the action sequences with View>Actions.
  5. Copy the "Map ER model to DB schema" action sequence twice into your own profile.
  6. Select the first copied action sequence.
  7. Select Edit>Properties.

The dialog of the same name appears.

  8. Enter a suitable name and localized name.
  9. Close the dialog.
  10. Select the first engineering action from the list of profile elements on the right-hand side.
  11. Select Edit>Properties.

The dialog of the same name appears.

  12. Enter a name, e.g. "Config".
  13. Enter "de.mid.innovator.m2msdk.application.ConfigurationApplication" as the location.
  14. Enter the argument "Customer=<Path of the configuration file, e.g. configuration/en/customer/ER2DB>" and "CustomerMode=true".
  15. Note:

You can enter an absolute or relative path. Files with a relative path are first looked for in the working directory and then in the class path. If the file was not found, the respective default file from the $INODIR/java/M2MSDK/configuration/de/mid directory will be used instead. If a file cannot be written then a copy of it is made and stored in the temporary directory instead.

  16. Jump to the Tags tab.
  17. Delete the values.
  18. Close the dialog.
  19. Delete the other action sequence's engineering actions.
  20. Repeat steps 11 to 14 for all engineering actions for the second copied action sequence.
  21. Jump to the Execution Rights view.
  22. Add the first action sequence to the your user role.
  23. Add the Database Architect user role to the second action sequence.
  24. Jump to the Menus view.
  25. Select your profile from the tree on the left-hand side and Innovator-specific::InoX model in the profile.
  26. The Database Architect can run the customer-specific mapping under Extras>Map Model>Mapping.
