Creating a Process in the Diagram

Processes can be modeled either horizontally or vertically. You can decide which way you want to use when creating a process.

Context

Processes can be modeled either horizontally or vertically. You can decide which way you want to use when creating a process.

How to proceed

  1. Position the mouse pointer at your chosen position in the BPMN diagram and select the template for a horizontal process or a vertical process from the mini toolbar in the context menu.

A new process is created in the diagram. The name of the process is automatically selected to be edited.

  2. Enter the name for the process and confirm with the [Enter] key.
Tip:

You can create various element types in Innovator diagrams in this way. The types of elements available in the mini toolbar primarily depend on the diagram type used, the model template used and the user role selected in a model.
