Adding Smart Icons to Elements

You can use Edit Mode to immediately add smart icons to diagram elements to add additional status information to the graphic.

You can use Edit Mode to show additional status information as an icon in the graphic for elements when in edit mode in a diagram. To do this, choose a command from the View>Smart Icons group.

You can also select one of the following pieces of information:

1.  Not Accessible
   An icon indicates

   • that the user is not authorized to modify this element in his current role, otherwise no icon will be displayed.

2.  Editing
   An icon indicates

   • that the element can be edited by the current user, or
   • that the element is currently being edited exclusively by another user and therefore cannot be edited by the current user at this time, despite having the necessary authorization

3.  Specified
   An icon indicates

   • that the textual specification of an element is empty and only contains a facts text, or
   • that a customized specification text has been stored.
