Licensing

You can only use the complete range of Innovator functions if you have the respective license. You will need a license repository to activate editions which are available at an extra cost; the license repository contains all requested licenses and the registration of the computer on which the license server runs.

Basis

You can only use the complete range of Innovator functions for an unlimited period of time if you have the respective license.

Single User Edition Licensing

The single-user license for BPMN diagrams is installed along with the free Personal edition and is available immediately.

The Professional Edition, which is available at an extra cost, requires a single-user license which is generated by MID GmbH depending on your hardware and sent by e-mail.

Multi-User Edition Licensing

Innovator provides support for the floating license concept in the Enterprise Edition. Licensing depends exclusively on the number of users who work simultaneously with a given Innovator product.

Activating Innovator

Context

Your Innovator installation licensing has been specially designed for your license server computer. In order to have a unique identification of this computer, you must determine a special character string, the computer identification. The license computer and client are identical for a single-user license.

You will need a license repository containing all the licenses you have purchased, including the necessary platform licenses (operating system on server and client), and the registration of the computer on which the license server runs to activate all editions apart from the Personal edition.

The license repository for the licensed Innovator version will be e-mailed to you after you have transmitted the requested licenses and computer identification to MID GmbH.

Based on your order, MID GmbH will provide you with a tailor-made license repository for your computer. The licenses will be extended with this license repository and you can use your new version of immediately.

How to proceed

Installing Innovator.

Initially, you will only have the demo version when you start the Enterprise edition.

You will not have any license to start with when first using the Professional edition.
Transfer the necessary licenses (products, profiles, platform etc.) via the sales department to MID GmbH.
Determine the host identification for the license server host in the administration program.
E-mail this host identification to MID GmbH.
MID GmbH will then send you a complete license repository for the registered computer, containing licenses for the products, profiles and platforms you have purchased.
If you are not running Innovator with a demo license, log in to the administration program as administrator.
You can add your licenses to the demo license using the command Administration>License>Load License File....

If the activation was successful, your serial number will be displayed in the administration program's status bar.

Innovator is now ready for use with all products and profiles you have purchased.

Use of Licenses

Innovator distinguishes between a main license server and any number of project license servers in the Enterprise Edition. Repositories that are registered with the main license server are available company-wide, while those repositories that are registered with a project license server are only available for the corresponding external projects. The licenses from the license pool of an organization can be assigned from the main license server to the various projects on a time-limited basis.
