Notations

Innovator for Business Analysts primarily uses the standards Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Unified Modeling Language (UML) from the Object Management Group (OMG) for graphic notation.

Graphic notation in Innovator for Business Analysts is primarily based on two standards of the Object Management Group (OMG):

• Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN 2.0)
• Unified Modeling Language (UML)

The standards are extended to include Innovator-specific diagram types and elements to

• Describe aspects which are not shown by BPMN diagrams or established UML diagrams
• Enable integration of various model approaches
• Support working in complex projects
